The MW M135i is currently one of the high rollers of the hot hatch world. Powered by a 320 hp and 450 Nm turbocharged I6 engine, this ugly little beast is not only plenty fast enough to justify it’s rather fat price tag, it also offers one of the best drives. Still, there is room for improvement.
And the guys from Tuningwerk decided to explore it. First order of business, as usual, was to give the engine a couple more horses for good measure. So the turbos got tweaked, a large intercooler went in place, the stock exhaust system was swapped for a sport unit that has 200 cell convertors, even the flywheel got replaced with a lighter one. Last but not least, a new ECU software was uploaded to its chip.
The result of all that effort is a healthy power upgrade that can be tuned, according to the size of your wallet from 360 to 450 horsepower. And that’s going to make a difference in the way the car goes about its business.
To make sure it stays in check all the time, this BMW M135i upgraded by Tuningwerk is fitted with a limited slip differential, KW sport suspension, and high performance braking system. Upon request, they can also supply Recaro seats and a roll cage.
