The teasing campaign for the new 2015 Mercedes C-Class is in full swing now, and after a couple of videos and pictures, we know get the first technical details on the new mid-size sedan. The car boasts a number of high-tech features that set it apart from the competition.
Among the virtues of the new C-Class we should mention the a new agile and comfortable suspension as well as GPS-sensitive air conditioning, plus a new touchpad command center and head-up display. These are the sort of features you’d normally expect from an S-Class.
The 2015 Mercedes C-Class is, to all intent and purposes, a smaller version of the S-Class. It looks very similar to its big brother, and with features such as what mentioned above, it is also just as advanced. That doesn’t mean the C-Class doesn’t have its own character. Inside the cabin is where you get a sense of exclusivity and forget about the exterior similarities with the S-Class. Here you find a completely reinterpreted centre console, as well as a free-standing central display and high-grade materials.
The new car features an aluminium hybrid body shell that is lighter yet stronger than its predecessor. The whole car is in fact 100 kg lighter than the outgoing model. Despite this, the safety has been improved due to enhanced rigidity. And there is the whole host of technology features.
The new head-up display system, designed to be less distracting than the current systems, provides information on speed, speed limits, navigation instructions and messages from DISTRONIC PLUS. Then there is the air condition system including automatic air recirculation with tunnel detection using satellite navigation. The AIR-BALANCE package with active fragrancing and ionisation, which celebrated its world premiere in the S-Class, also adds to the feel-good atmosphere.
2015 Mercedes C-Class will launch in Fall 2014 in America.
