The unveiling of the new generation Mercedes C-Class, type W205, is imminent as Mercedes released a video announcing the arrival of the new boy. The new C-Class has been in the works for quite a while and this time is said to be a proper rival for the BMW 3-Series in terms of driving dynamics.

Design-wise, the new Mercedes C-Class W205 is heavily inspired by the 2014 Mercedes S-Class W222, which is not surprising. The looks of the S-Class dictate what the rest of the firm’s executive range will look like for the next couple of years.

So you can think of the new C as a shrunken S-Class for those who cannot afford the real thing. In truth though, the C-Class is a sporty mid-size saloon with its own little charms that over the years helped it sell in big numbers.

As is the case with all-new Mercedes models, you get a refreshed cabin as well. But again, the influence of the big daddy S-Class will be visible in every last details. That is a good thing when it comes to features and equipment. The engine lineup will feature enhanced versions of the current range of four and six-cylinder units. There hasn’t been any talk of a hybrid version, but who knows.
