The launch of the new Mercedes S-Class with all its amazing new technology features and mind-blowing luxury amenities has kind of pushed Audi’s A8 into the cold, dark shadows. In an attempt to give the car another fighting chance, the German company announced the launch of Audi A8L W12 Exclusive Concept, a model with a lavish, exclusive interior.
It is called a concept, but the A8L Exclusive is actually a limited production series of 50 units, only available as long wheelbase and distinguished by a special logo on the door sill trims. Most of the work on this car has been done on the inside.
In the superbly crafted cabin you find Agatha cognac aniline leather from Poltrona Frau, an Italian luxury brand. It is amazing to look at and wonderful to touch, and is garnished with diamond quilting in the center of the seats, inlays in grain olive ash natural silver brown, and granite gray piping, stitching. The upper part of the cabin is wrapped in a mixture of fine Nappa leather, snow white Alcantara, and cognac brown suede. The finishing touch is a set of jet gray floor mats.
Audi A8L W12 Exclusive is powered by the same engine used in the Bentley Continental GT W12 models with 550 horsepower. The limited edition model will be available to order from March 2014.
