The first images of the new Nismo-powered Nissan GT-R leaked onto the web ahead of the car’s official debut at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. The car certainly isn’t subtle visually, what with all those red bits all around it, so the performance better be good enough to make up for the vulgarity.
It probably is, as time and again the officials of both companies have promised the long-awaited Nissan GT-R Nismo will live up to the expectations. The revised 3.8 liter turbo V6 in this car is said to have close to 600 horsepower. That in combination with some serious chassis upgrades, new wheels and tires will result in an awe-inspiring Nurburgring lap time.
With the styling Nismo clearly wanted to mark its territory and make sure nobody will mistake this car as anything other than a Nismo. The red lips on the carbon fiber front spoiler, side boards and the rear diffuser are typical Nismo cues used on their other cars such as the Juke. We’re sure they have some aerodynamic purpose, especially when paired with the fixed rear wing, but they are not very pretty to be honest.
Official details of the Nissan GT-R Nismo are expected to be released soon, so stay tuned.
