Mitsubishi announced the launch of the new and improved version of its ASX crossover in the British market. The 2014 ASX comes with improved safety features, three Euro V compliant engines, enhanced efficiency, and an automatic transmission available as an option on selected models.

The 2014 Mitsubishi ASX 4 2.2 Diesel 4WD can be ordered with the new automatic transmission, while the 1.6-litre 16v MIVEC engine comes exclusively fitted with a five-speed manual transmission with front-wheel drive. Meanwhile the 1.8-litre Di-D diesel engine comes fitted with a six-speed manual gearbox, and can be specified with either front- or four-wheel drive (AWC). And the chance of you getting the perfect engine/drivetrain combo is nill.

The trim level is easier to understand, as you get ASX 2, 3 and 4. The entry-level ASX 2 comes with alloy wheels, air conditioning, electric windows and keyless entry, Bluetooth, leather upholstery, satellite navigation, seat heaters and a reversing camera (option). The ASX 3 adds 17-inch alloys, climate control, push-start button, parking sensors, privacy glass, front fog lamps, cruise control and features six speakers. KOS (Keyless Operation System), while auto light and wipers, and leather upholstery are available. The range–topping ASX 4 adds to the above a reversing camera, leather upholstery, Kenwood integrated Satellite Navigation and CD/radio with MP3 compatibility, as well as a panoramic roof.
