On December 21 UK residents will enjoy the longest night of the year – or the shortest day. While this may not seem like a big deal to most of us, Audi sees a marketing opportunity in it. They have gone all twilighty and took four of their cars into near-darkness for an artsy photoshoot.

The darkness theme also helps Audi show off their LED headlights and LED daytime running lamps, which they are immensely proud of. To make most of the lighting condition, they have used a photographic technique known as ‘light painting’, in which exposures are made by moving a hand-held light source or camera to selectively illuminate parts of the car or to create stunning light trails around it. The result is some pretty awesome pictures you can enjoy below:

The highlight of this lineup is the Audi S6 Saloon, featuring a twin-turbo-charged V8 with 420 PS and 550Nm, and all-LED lights. Prices start from £54,505 OTR for the Saloon and £56,725 OTR for the Avant.

Then we have the Audi S5 Coupe, powered by a 333 PS supercharged 3.0-litre V6. Available in five-door Sportback, Coupe and Cabriolet forms, this car is priced from £42,595.

The small A3 range is represented here by the three-door model, while five-door Sportback and four-door Saloon variants are also now available. The A3 prices range from 18,280 OTR to £29,710 OTR.

Audi’s RS family has sent one of their finest members, the RS5 Cabriolet. The 450 PS V8-powered drop-top sports car goes from 0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds and costs £68,985.
