Porsche 991 Targa Revealed in Leaked Patents

Porsche 911 Targa 0 600x315 at Porsche 991 Targa Revealed in Leaked Patents

The next member of the Porsche 991 family, to be revealed next year, is a retro-looking Targa version. And we get our first look at this car through some leaked patent images that reveal the roof arrangements and everything. The Targa, evidently, is going to be most distinguished member of the 911 range.

The rest of the 911s are quite hard to tell apart if you are not a hard-core Porsche enthusiast. To an uninterested eye they all look the same. But we doubt anyone can get over that 80’s roof arrangement the Porsche 991 Targa is blessed with in a hurry. It’s not very pretty, but it’s really rather cool.

Porsche fans are going to love this retro look on the 991. There is a thick silver pillar between the roof and the rear window reminiscent of the original Targas. Unlike the original cars though, the removing the roof is, apparently, an automated process in the new car.

The rest of the Porsche 991 Targa will be identical to the standard Carrera and Carrera S models.
