General Motors finally takes the wraps off the all-new 2015 GMC Canyon mid-sizer truck. And as with all things new, they say the Canyon will set new standards in terms of power, efficiency, practicality, and, since it is a mid-size pickup truck, maneuverability.  

Featuring an instantly recognizable GMC design with C-shaped LED daytime running lamps and an imposing front grille, the 2015 Canyon is offered in base, SLE and SLT models, in 2WD and 4WD models, and with an aggressively styled All-Terrain package offered on SLE models. The designers have included may little details in the Canyon that may seem insignificant, but will definitely have a profound effect on the truck’s usability on a day to day basis.

As for the standard and available standard features, power-adjustable driver’s seat is standard, and heated leather seats are standard on SLT. The All-Terrain package features exclusive color and trim details, including embossed seatbacks and unique contrast stitching. You also get a standard 4.2-inch-diagonal color driver information screen in the instrument cluster, optional 8-inch color display, OnStar 4G LTE with built-in Wi-Fi hot spot, navigation, Siri integration, Appshop, and teen driver feature.

The standard engine for the 2015 GMC Canyon is a 2.4 liter four-cylinder with 193 horsepower (146 kW) and 184 lb-ft of torque (253 Nm). You could also go for a 302 horsepower (224 kW) and 270 lb-ft of torque (366 Nm) 3.6 liter V6. All models come as standard with a six-speed automatic transmission, but the 2.5 liter can be specified with a six-speed manual transmission in base extended cab/2WD models.
