Kia Motors America confirmed the details and spec of the 2015 Sorento CUV, which is pretty much the same exact car as it was back in 2012 when it got a major makeover. It’s still a good, capable and value for money utility vehicle though, suitable for those who don’t want anything fancy.
The 2015 Kia Sorento comes with a choice of either a 3.3-liter GDI V6 with 290 horsepower and 252 lb.-ft. of torque, or a 2.4-liter GDI four-cylinder with 190 horsepower and 181 lb.-ft. of torque; front or four-wheel-drive; and four trims of LX, EX, SX and SX Limited.
The optional 4×4 system the Sorento is blessed with is a Torque On Demand all-wheel drive affair which includes Torque Vectoring Cornering Control (TVCC) for added stability under certain driving conditions. Standard is a six-speed automatic transmission and electric Flex Steer system with three steering modes: Comfort, Normal and Sport.
Styling-wise, the 2015 Kia Sorento gets a slightly revised front-end with anodized silver metal or black mesh grille, a more aggressive lower fascia, and LED rear lights.
The 2015 Sorento also gets its fair share of new connectivity and technology features including a 7-inch TFT LCD that projects a digital speedometer flanked by easy-to-read analog instruments for the tachometer, fuel level and engine temperature. Navigation can be added, but it costs extra, as does satellite radio. Carry-over options in the 2015 Sorento include a programmable power liftgate, panoramic sunroof with a one-piece, power-operated shade, integrated 2nd row sliding sunshades, available dual ventilated air-cooled front seats, a 115-volt power inverter, and illuminated door handle pockets.
Pricing for the 2015 Kia Sorento is yet to be revealed.
