Even though the first-gen Range Rover Sport is old news, now that the 2014 model is out setting new standards, it is hard to forget that big old thing and how much we used to covet it! If anything, the launch of the new model makes the old one more accessible, as the prices are fast plummeting on the old Sport.
That is great news for the fans of this car. But, as we all know, buying a car has already been replaced with a newer, better one can be a cause for great depression. Don’t despair though, because there is a solution. And that is a great tuning kit. It revitalizes the car and gives it an appearance that is more often than not even better than that of the new model. Something like this, the Range Rover Sport RS300 Cosworth by Kahn Design.
This car is based on the 3.0 liter TDV6 version, so it doesn’t cost silly money. What Kahn does is remap the ECU with a program developed by Cosworth, which boosts the output from 245 to 290 horsepower.
As for the looks, the RS300 package includes wide arches, lower front bumper lip extension, RS extended large upper roof wing, Kahn enamel wing shields, door handles in body colour, quad exhaust system in stainless steel, RS front grille surround insert in body colour, privacy tinted glass and a pair of bullet side vent inserts. You also get a set of Kahn RS wheels in size 9.5 x 22” (front) and 10 x 22” (rear concaved).
The interior is garnished with front and rear seats in perforated black leather, a Kahn time clock facia insert, vented foot pedals in machined aluminum and a diamond quilted centre glove box.
