Nissan announced a range of updates for the 2015 Versa Note family with the unveiling of the new Versa Note SR at the Chicago Auto Show. Pitched as the sporty version of the car, the Note SR extends the Versa family to a five-strong lineup.

Nissan Versa Note SR comes with sporty front and rear fascias and grille, unique rear spoiler, 16-inch sport aluminum-alloy wheels and exclusive interior enhancements such as 370Z-inspired leather-wrapped steering wheel, suede-like fabric seats with orange stitching, and piano black trim pieces with chrome accenting.

The engine powering this “sporty” model is a not so sporty 1.6-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine with dual fuel injection and Twin variable valve timing system. It makes 109 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque, which is delivered to the front wheels via an Xtronic transmission. Versa SR makes up for its terrible performance with good fuel economy ratings of 40 mpg highway, 31 mpg city and 35 mpg combined.

Standard kit on the 2015 Nissan Versa Note SR include 6-way adjustable front bucket seats, Fine Vision instrumentation, AM/FM/CD/Aux-in audio system with 4 speakers, 12-volt power outlet, front door pockets with bottle holders, dual front and rear cupholders and front seatback pockets. Amazingly though, the rear brakes are drums rather than discs. Didn’t know that is still allowed.
