Even though there is a new BMW M3/M4 out now, if you want the real ultimate driving machine you should go for the M235i model, or better still, its Racing version. The M235i is the closest thing to the original E30 M3 you can get right now, and that is considered by many as the best driver’s car of all time.

The BMW M235i Racing is a track-only version of the road-going car that is developed for the VLN Endurance Championship and the Nurburgring 24 Hour race. It has many racing bits bolted to it and all the unnecessary luxury taken out, which means it is lighter, tauter, and a lot more fun than the standard car.

BMW M235i Racing is powered by the same 3.0 liter TwinPower turbo straight-six you find in the road car, developing 333 horsepower and 450 Nm torque. The suspension, brakes, and electronics though, are all race-tuned. The car also gets a revised limited-slip diff, a safety roll cage, and Recaro racing seats complete with racing harness.
