Unsurprisingly, the third and last of Volvo’s trio of SPA concept cars leaked out ahead of its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Called the Concept Estate, the car completes a lineup that includes a crossover and a sleek saloon.
All three Volvo concept cars share the same SPA scalable platform, and they all have a sort of coupe-like design that is the complete opposite of Volvo’s traditional boxy design. In one way or other, all future Volvo models will be inspired by these three cars.
The crossover XC concept, for instance, will spawn a new XC90, and this, the Volvo Concept Estate, shows the way forward for future wagon models. Despite being an estate and therefore designed for practicality, the concept car has two doors and a cargo area more akin to a sexy shooting brake than a station wagon.
Volvo Concept Estate is also packed with interesting new technologies, but more on that at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
