Historically, the Italian Army has always been poorly organized, supported the wrong side, and eventually messed it all up for the party it was supposed to support. It’s a good job then they are not currently engaged in any major battle, for not only it saves them the embarrassment, it means they can do more useful things with their toys; like lending their flagship aircraft carrier Nave Cavour to domestic car makers for publicity events.

A while back Lamborghini took over Nave Cavour during its visit to the UAE to unveil a roadster version of the multi-million dollar Veneno super car in style. Then it was Maserati’s turn, and they brought onboard the ship their entire range including Quattroporte, Ghibli, GranTurismo and GranCabrio:

Maserati, of course, has a penchant for posh, extravagant, and expensive publicity campaigns. In fact, they just managed to secure a spot in the Sports Illustrated 50th Anniversary Swimsuit Issue with a pictorial piece called “Beyond the Swimsuit,” shot by Italian Master Photographer, Francesco Carrozzini, featuring Heidi Klum.
