Volvo’s booth at this year’s Geneva Motor Show is going to be a very busy place. They are bringing a new concept car, the third and final concept from their SPA series, and no less than six different special editions. They include the new Ocean Race Edition and new V70 & XC70 Edition models.
The highlight of the Special Edition Volvos lineup is, of course, the fifth generation Ocean Race Edition models. They pay homage to Volvo Ocean Race, which is the world’s most gruelling ocean adventure, covering 38,739 nautical miles – equivalent to 71,745 km – across 11 cities in 11 countries.
The models that get the treatment include Volvo V40, V40 Cross Country, V60 and XC60, and they all come in one of the available four colors of Ocean Blue II, Bright Silver, Black Sapphire and Crystal White. Depending on the model you get 17 or 18-inch wheels, but all models get Volvo Ocean Race identification badges, black or blond leather upholstery with orange stitching, and special floor mats.
Apart from the Ocean series, there are two more Special Edition Volvos coming to Geneva this year. They are the new V70 & XC70 Edition, featuring high gloss black details, including the ribs in the grille, the rear-view mirror caps, the side window frames and parts of the tailgate.
These models are also distinguished by their special wheels. 17-inch gloss silver is standard, but you can order other 17-inch and 18-inch wheels in high gloss black.
