Volvo Concept Estate official 0 600x450 at Volvo Concept Estate: Official Details

The official details and pictures of the Volvo Concept Estate have been revealed by the Swedish car maker prior to its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. AS we mentioned before, the Estate is the last of a trio of concept cars featuring sleek, coupe-like design and a new platform Volvo calls the Scaleable Product Architecture (SPA).

With the Volvo Concept Estate the designer were evidently trying to shake off the boxy image associated with Volvo estate cars. With an emphasize on beauty, the car features styling elements like low bonnet, sleek silhouette, flared wheel arches and a glass roof, as well as 21-inch wheels. The new ‘floating’ grille and headlights featuring new T-shaped DRL light guides are among the other highlights of the Estate’s design.

As interesting as the Concept Estate’s exterior looks, the interior is even better. Swedish design oozes off every corner of the cabin; from the unique seats with orange seat belts and chequered black and white wool textile rear sides, to the woven wool carpets from the Swedish designer Kasthall, and crystal gear leaver from Orrefors/Kosta Boda. It feels like a really special place to spend time in, what with materials such as tanned saddle leather from Tärnsjö, inlays made of waxed, naturally aged wood and machined copper details.

Volvo has even built a Swedish game called “kubb” into this car. The specially designed game set is visible through the load floor in the back, while the rules of the game are printed on the transparent floor!
