Today we brought you a couple of 700 and 800 horsepower tuned Mercedes-Benz models. And here’s another one based on the G-Class, because no Mercedes collection is complete without one. This is the Hennessey Mercedes G63 AMG fitted with the Texan tuner’s HPE700 package. That means it has 700 horsepower.

To be frank, there is nothing very special about this car. Hennessey Performance has come up with a power upgrade kit for the M157 twin-turbo 5.5 liter AMG V8 engine, and since that powertrain is found in a whole bunch of cars, they can now established themselves as a fully-fledged tuner of AMG cars with a an impressive portfolio.

They’ve done a helluva job with this engine though, revising the software, replacing the manifolds and upgrading the turbos, among other changes. And the 700 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque they claim for it are dyno tested and proven. John Hennessey may not enjoy a great reputation as a completely honest man, but he doesn’t mess around when it comes to facts and figures.

Besides the beefed-up powertrain, Hennessey Mercedes G63 also benefits from upgrades such as interior treatments, exclusive badging, and, upon request, visual modifications as well.
