At this year’s Geneva Motor Show Mansory unveiled a new version of their Gronos tuning kit for the Mercedes G63 AMG boasting a colossal 840 horsepower output. This and the 1,600 horsepower Lamborghini Aventador we showed you earlier, hints at Mansory’s new-found obsession with power.
Mansory mentions new pistons, new exhaust system, modified cylinder heads, new connecting rods, and new software as some of the changes they’ve made to the M157 AMG bi-Turbo V8 to extract 840 hp and over a 1,000 nm of torque out of it. There is an even more powerful version in the works based on the G65 AMG V12.
Besides monstrous power, Mansory Mercedes G63 Gronos benefits from a bespoke body kit made from carbon fiber, and finished in a cool matte grey color, garnished with black accents and red brake calipers. The styling treatment includes revised bumpers, grilles, headlights, bonnet, fenders, running boards… pretty much everything really. It also comes with 23-inch wheels.
They have tweaked the interior as well, but surprisingly, it is a lot more sober than the exterior. You get a mix of dark-colored leather and Alcantara, and of course carbon fiber. Mansory, as you may know, has in-house carbon fiber production facilities. That explains how they can afford to lavish the precious material so generously on their cars.
