BMW revealed its lineup for the 2014 New York Auto Show, and the list is headlined by the new Sport Activity Coupe, the X4. Finally the car will make its public debut in full production trim. The car you will see at the show is the car you will be able to order from spring.

As the X6’s little brother, the new BMW X4 carries a lot of weight on its shoulders. On the surface, things do not look very good. The car has inherited the drawbacks of the X6, such as flawed practicality, and it doesn’t look as interesting as the X6 did back in the day. Apart from that, the X4 offers a good crossover package and could drive people away from the three-door Range Rover Evoque.

In America, BMW X4 launches with two models. The first is the X4 xDrive28i, powered by a 240 horsepower 2.0-liter four cylinder turbocharged engine, with peak torque of 260 lb-ft and 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds. It costs of $45,625.

The next model is the X4 xDrive35i, featuring the 300 horsepower 3.0-liter inline six, producing peak torque of 300 lb-ft and 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. The cost of this model is $48,925. Both X4s come with an 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission with shift paddles as well as xDrive, BMW’s intelligent all-wheel drive system.

BMW’s New York lineup also includes the new BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe, BMW ALPINA B6 Gran Coupe, BMW X3 LCI and BMW Concept X5 eDrive.
