Lexus finally takes the wraps off the production version of the LF-NX concept crossover a few days ahead of its debut at the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The new Lexus NX slots below the RX and offers a small and efficient SUV available from launch with hybrid power.
2015 Lexus NX will launch with three powertrain options. There is a naturally-aspirated 2.0 liter unit from the existing range, a new turbocharged version of the same engine that is more powerful and yet more economical, and a hybrid system in the NX300h model.
Being a new Lexus, the NX also gets a whole host of fancy technology features, including an available Lexus-first Wireless Charging Tray, Lexus Remote Touch Interface with a touch pad, Lexus-first G sensor and boost meter, Heads-Up Display, All-speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
The design of the 2015 Lexus NX is pretty much identical to the LF-NX concept which came under a lot of criticism when it was first unveiled at the 2013 IAA. Nevertheless, Lexus went ahead and made it with the same massive spindle grille, weird headlights, and the dynamic profile. The NX comes in two normal and F sport model, with the latter getting a revised grille, larger wheels, and a sportier interior.
Pricing and market availability of the 2015 Lexus NX will be announced closer to its launch later in the year.
