Fearing that the unveiling of a small SUV like Macan may turn out to be a boring event for the UK public, Porsche dispatched three of the most important cars in its history to show up at the event and keep the guests amused. They were Porsche 917, 918 Spyder and 919 Hybrid.

This “family reunion” was definitely a special occasion, as it was the first time these remarkable cars were together in the same place.

Porsche 917 is one of the most interesting cars in the history of automobile, not just because it was the first Porsche to win at Le Mans, but because back then it was so ahead of its time technologically.

The same applies to the Porsche 918, which is way ahead of its time today, boasting a super sophisticated hybrid system that delivers mind-boggling performance and even more astonishing economy.

Porsche 919 Hybrid is the spiritual successor to the 917, designed and built to compete at this year’s Le Mans 24 Hours and WEC season. This car too features a hybrid powertrain and has high hopes of getting back for Porsche its lost Le Mans glory.
