Audi revealed a new concept study called A3 Clubsport Quattro which they will be unveiling at this year’s Worthersee meeting. The concept is based on the S3 Sedan and features a heavily tuned version of the 2.5 TFSI engine Audi uses in many different models.
In Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro that engine develops 386 kW (525 hp) and over 600 Nm of torque. The concept weighs 1,527 kilograms (3,366.5 lb), which means it has a power to weight ratio of 2.9 kg/hp, resulting in a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) time of 3.6 seconds. Top speed is 310 km/h (192.6 mph).
The key to the performance of the Clubsport’s engine is a large turbocharger with up to 1.5 bar of relative boost pressure and a modified intercooler. It is mated to a seven-speed S tronic with a compact three-shaft layout, and of course Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
To cope with these high-end parts Audi has also revised the S3’s suspension for use in this car and lowered the ride height. Furthermore, they fitted carbon fiber-ceramic brakes on all four corners and fitted 21-inch rims with high-performance tires.
As interesting as the mechanical bits is the way Audi A3 Clubsport Quattro looks, what with a carbon fiber wide body kit, a massive new grille, and Magnetic Blue paint job. They have modified the interior too, with sport bucket seats and stuff, but all Audi cabin look the same and this car is no different.
