Hartge is one of those BMW tuners that have a big obsession with horsepower. And it is just as well they are sticking with the mechanicals, because, as we have seen with their previous works, they are not exactly artists when it comes to styling mods. They have now announced an upgrade program for the BMW 2 Series, and mercifully it is all about performance.

Hartge has a range of power kits available for all the diesel engines in the range, and one petrol unit, the 220i. The four-pot Bimmer gets a boost from 184 PS to 218 PS, and from 270 Nm of torque to 320 Nm.

As for the diesels, the entry-level 218d now makes 174 and 380 Nm instead of 140 PS and 320 Nm; the 220d gets 218 PS and 450 Nm which is a lot better than the standard 18 0PS and 380 Nm; and the 225d benefits from a healthy 258 PS and 530 Nm, beating the standard car’s 218 PS and 450 Nm.

Hartge BMW 2 Series also gets sport springs that result in a substantial lowering on both axles, and a set of Hartge wheels.
