Top Gear Live events are mostly identical in terms of content and the stunts, but each venue also gets its own share of unique material. The Barbados event, for example, got something truly special, something that’s never been done before. For the first time ever they put a Formula 1 driver up against Ken Block!

This is not so much a Ken Block vs Lewis Hamilton battle as a showdown between Formula 1 and Rallycross. Lewis shows up with his Mercedes AMG F1 car, and Ken with his uniquely modified Ford Fiesta Rallycross. The footage below will give you a taste of the action:

Top Gear managed to pull off this stunt due to the fact that their gig coincided with the Barbados round of Rallycross championship season. That is why Tanner Faust is there rooting for his mate Ken Block. The winner of the race appears to be Block with his rally car, as he manages to take a couple of shortcuts through the dirt while Hamilton has to stick to tarmac. They both celebrate the end of the race with massive donuts.
