We already that Porsche Cayman S is one of the finest sports cars money can buy today, and that it is so perfect that there isn’t much room improvement. Still, Porsche gave it a go and created the Cayman GTS, and since Steve Sutcliffe cannot stop waxing lyrical about it, it really must be extraordinary.
In this test, Sutcliffe takes the new Porsche Cayman GTS for a test drive on public roads, followed by a brief track test, where things get pretty sideways.
Compared to the S model, Porsche Cayman GTS boasts an additional 15 hp for a total 340 hp, which means when equipped with the optional Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK), it is a tenth of a second faster. But it’s the handling where the GTS earns its keep, thanks to features like PASM and the Sport Chrono package as standard. Porsche is reportedly developing a GT4 version of the Cayman with better handling and more power. What’s that going to be like?
