We first saw this green LaFerrari, belonging to Jay Kay – lead singer of Jamiroquai, in some blurry spy photos. But unlike Eric Clapton who locks his special cars away and doesn’t let anybody see them, Jay likes to drive his cars and show them to people. So he turned up at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and stole the show with his unique Ferrari.
Jay Kay’s LaFerrari was one of the two LaFerraris at the GFoS. The other one is a plain old red which stands no chance against Jay’s Kermit Green car in terms of turning heads. Both cars feature a 6.3-litre V12 engine with 800 hp and a unique hybrid system that offers the driver an additional 163 hp at all times. Production of Ferrari LaFerrari is limited to 499 units, all of them already sold.
Besides the amazing paint job, Jay Kay’s LaFerrari is also unique inside as it features green stitching and accents, and a ‘Jamiroquai’ plaque on the steering wheel.
This year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed also witnessed the debut of a one-off Ferrari called the F12 TRS. Based on the F12 Berlinetta, this built-to-order, open-top model was created to satisfy a customer’s desire for owning a one of a kind Ferrari inspired by the legendary 1957 250 Testa Rossa.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale and the new California T – very fine super cars in their own rights – looked like hatchbacks next to these mega cars.
