Piecha Design released further images of their Avalange GT-R styling kit for the Mercedes SL R231. While it doesn’t look just as fancy in the flesh as it did in the preview images they had released before, the Avalange kit is currently the most thorough visual makeover available for the SL.

The ingredients of Piecha Design Mercedes SL Avalange package include a 3,570 Euro front bumper with unique spoiler lip, air intakes, and LEDs; 2,090 Euro side skirts; and a 2,975 Euro rear bumper complete with extra vents, a diffuser, and tailpipes (573 Euro).

If you want the rear spoiler that will be another 785 Euro, and if you fancy the sport mufflers, set aside another 2,150 Euro. Meanwhile the 20-inch rims with 25530R20 and 305/25R20 tires (front/rear) will cost you 3,190 Euro. The suspension lowering is rather cheap though at 499 Euros.

So yes, Piecha Design Mercedes SL Avalange is a pricey bit of kit. But it is fair to say they have done a fine job of changing the car’s rather unpleasant styling. That is the point of a proper styling kit. It has to change things for the better, which the Avalange does.
