Washington, D.C. is famous for many things, but motorsport is not one of them. So Red Bull needed something big to promote their Global Rallycross event at RFK stadium this weekend and attract as much attention to it as possible.

What they came up with is basically a Gymkhana video around Washington with Rhys Millen drifting his Hyundai Veloster rallycross car in front of the city’s iconic features such as Washington Monument and Capitol Building, before hitting the track at RFK.

The popularity of rallycross is growing around the world and every day more famous names and famous places want to be involved in it. This relatively new field of motorsport combines track racing with rallying on a special course that is half tarmac, half gravel. The cars they use in rallycross may look like ordinary hatchbacks, but they are in fact 600 horsepower monster capable of extraordinary performance.
