After years of ruling the tuning scene in the UK, A. Kahn Design is finally making the move into the prestigious realm of coachbuilding by establishing Ant-Kahn subsidiary. This is the result of partnership between Afzal Kahn and Evanta Motor Company’s owner, Ant Anstead.
Ant-Kahn’s business will be “British specialist vehicle manufacture” with focus on luxury and quality rather than speed and performance. In other words, they will be making boutique cars rather than sports car. That is not very British, but a look a Kahn’s resume shows this guy knows what he is doing.
Ant-Kahn already has a number of projects underway, including the ‘Flying Huntsman’, a new take on the classic Land Rover Defender, and an Ant-Kahn original; a retro-styled barchetta. The car are will be built using modern prototyping and manufacturing technology, but with the same attention to details associated with traditional coachbuilding.
“We are already working on exciting future plans that extend from coach-built special editions to series manufacture of motor vehicles, and you will see a number of models come to fruition in the coming weeks and months,” explained Afzal Kahn.
Ant Anstead comments: “Together, we are dedicated to continuing and building upon the historical excellence of British vehicle manufacture and the traditions of hand finished coach building are at the heart of the company’s ethos.”
