Kahn Design’s Aston Martin DB9 styling kit is not exactly hot news. Still, we featured it because, for one thing, it looks really good, and also because the DB9 is on the line to get replaced with a new model which will have a new name as well. So consider this an homage!
This car is of course the original Aston Martin DB9 before it gets the Virage-inspired facelift and it looks exceptionally beautiful. Kahn’s styling treatment is fairly simple and consists of two-piece front bumper spoiler, side sills and a two-piece rear apron. But with a car as gorgeous as the DB9 that would suffice to improve the looks no end.
In fact the simplicity of this styling package is what makes it cool. Anything heavier than this would have messed up the car’s natural beauty. Fortunately, Kahn has a great taste in styling and knows what needs to be modified and what should remain stock; kind of like a good plastic surgeon!
This generation of Aston Martin DB9 is powered by a 6.0 liter V12 engine with 450 horsepower. That too will be retired along with the car, and replaced with a more powerful, more fuel efficient engine made by AMG in the next model.
