One of the highlights of all modern Lamborghini models is their four-wheel-drive system which makes them manageable and easy to drive. But every now and again the Italians squeeze a raw, rear-wheel-drive version into the lineup to keep things interesting. They did it with the Gallardo and now, as it turns out, they want to do it with the Huracan.
For the engineers making a rear-drive Lamborghini Huracan is only a matter of getting the green light. The have already made on in form of the Huracan Super Trofeo race car, which is a lighter, more powerful, and of course, rear-drive version of the road-going model.
Speaking to Autocar, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said: “We did it with the Gallardo so it might be an option. We are a four-wheel-drive super-sports car [manufacturer] but why should we not do a rear-drive option? We need lots of derivatives. Customers expect it and we always need something new to talk about.”
