Following a couple of teasers and leaked images, we can now have a good look at the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo race car in these official pictures. Unveiled at Quail, the new race car is an important car not just because it is the star of a one-make racing series. There is more to it.

The Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo will eventually spawn a road-going Super Trofeo special edition version of the Huracan, just like Gallardo did. What’s more, the aero kit on this race car will inspire countless tuners to come up with similar styling treatment for the Italian super car.

That’s a good thing, because the Trofeo looks spectacular in racing garb, which includes a massive splitter in the front with little winglets, side skirts, large rear diffuser, and a fixed rear wing. The aero kit is garnsihed with red accents, while a Tricolore flag garnishes the sills.

In terms of technicalities, Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo is around 250 kg lighter than the road-going version and its power output is rated at 620 hp. The racing car is rear-wheel-drive and features a racing cabin with a roll cage, racing seat and harness, digital dashboard, and nothing else.
