Lumma Tuning released pictures of a first-generation Mercedes SLK R170 they have recently given a makeover to. This model was widely known as a “girl’s car” when it was first launched, owing to its cutesy looks and folding hardtop. As a result, the next generations of the SLK became more and more butch and less and less attractive.

Lumma Mercedes SLK in this tuning program is a SLK32 AMG powered by a 3.2 liter V6 engine tuned by the original nutters that created AMG’s reputation for power madness. It makes 350 horsepower and does to 100 km/h inn 5.2 seconds. And yes, that is in standard tune.

What Lumma has done to this car is give it a fresh new look with a special body kit consisting of new front and rear bumpers, flared wheel arches, and side skirts, as well as front and rear spoilers. The tiny little roadster also gets a set of massive 20-inch wheels which look kind of oversized, even though the fenders are buffed up fit to burst.

Bilstein coilover suspension system and 30mm wheel spacers are among the other mods applied to Lumma Mercedes SLK R170.
