Since its world debut in Affalterbach, which was two days ago, we’ve had all sort of material about the Mercedes AMG GT; from live photos and videos, to various renderings showing the car in Roadster and Black Series guises. Now it’s time to see the car in some proper action on the race track.

The venue is Circuit of the Americas in Texas and the high-performance GT is wearing an extremely vibrant yellow paint job. You do not want to miss this:

That amazing soundtrack you’ve been hearing throughout this video is generated by a 4.0 liter bi-turbo V8, developed specifically for the Mercedes AMG GT. It will eventually make its way to other AMG products as well, but in this car it comes in two versions: a base model with 462 horsepower and an S variant with 510. Average fuel consumption is 9.6-9.3 l/100km with CO2 emission of 224-216 g/km.
