From November you will be able to order a new and hotter Porsche 911 Carrera as the company has just announced a new GTS version. This model is for those who find the Carrera S a bit too weak, but cannot handle the power, or price, of the GT3.
In other words, Porsche 991 Carrera GTS is a good compromise between the aforementioned models. You get 430 horsepower which is 30 more than the standard, plus Sport Chrono package and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system which lower the car by 10mm.
The upshot of all is that Porsche 991 Carrera GTS is tauter and sportier than the Carrera S, but not overwhelmingly so. As with the normal models, the GTS comes as a Coupé and a Cabriolet, available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. Zero 62 mph in this car takes 4.0 seconds (Cabriolet: 4.2 seconds) with the PDK gearbox, and the top speed is near as makes no difference 200 mph. What’s more, you can average up to 32 mpg if you’re careful.
Visually, Porsche 991 Carrera GTS is distinguished from normal models thanks to the wide hips it gets from the C4S model, matte black 20-inch wheels, bespoke GTS black trim strips and black chrome-plated exhaust tailpipes. Inside you get leather-trimmed sport seats and Alcantara-covered consoles.
