As you may know, BMW and the makers of Mission Impossible movies have a fruitful partnership. You certainly remember the i8’s guest appearance in MI4. For the filming MI5, BMW supplied the studio with multiple new M3s, which they are now sending back in a rather sorry state.
These damaged BMW M3s were spotted on a trailer at Gibraltar, being ferried back to Europe, probably back to BMW factory in Germany for repair or disassembly. The new BMW M3 F80 has apparently a big role in Mission Impossible 5 and spends a considerable amount of time chasing baddies around Morocco.
The chase scenes must be quite amazing, as the stunt team has evidently gone through seven or eight M3. Either that, or they are all rubbish driver and kept crashing the cars! So if you are on a waiting list for the new M3, you have Tom Cruise to thank for the delay. Mind you, there is the possibility that these cars look like an M3, but underneath they are ordinary 3 Series models.
The first and second Mission Impossible films were quite good efforts. But if we’re honest the rest of them were just the studio milking the franchise; nonsensical action thrillers with rubbish plots and cheesy lines.
