Following a sophisticated teaser announcing the name of the their new sports car, McLaren now makes available the first pictures of it. The image only shows a camouflaged prototype of McLaren Sports Series, but it’s enough to give you some ideas about its looks.

The teaser image of McLaren Sports Series is not revealing enough to judge the looks of the car by, but what we can see in it is a Ferrari 360 lookalike with a sharp, pointy noise, fancy headlights, and two large air intakes on the sides. McLaren doesn’t do radical styling, except when they are making a hyper car. So you can expect the MSS to be look like a toned down version of the 650S/12C.

McLaren Sports Series is, according to the company, a game-changing, pure sports car that will shake things up in this segment and give the established leaders of this class – Porsche 911, Audi R8, Ferrari California – a good run for their money. We already know the car will share most of its underpinnings with the 650S, including the carbon tub and the mid-mounted 3.8 liter bi-turbo V8. But if it wants to rival the big boys it needs not only to be lighter and nicer to drive, it needs to be offer a decent level of luxury and convenience as well.
