If you are a collector with an affinity for Motorsport memorabilia, one of Ayrton Senna’s first Formula 1 cars has now become available for purchase. Presented by Cars International, this 1983/84 Toleman TG183B is actually Senna’s first F1 World Championship points-scoring car.

That’s hardly glamorous, at least compared to his championship-winning cars, but still quite a nice piece of F1 history to own. What’s more, this is the car in which Ayrton made his F1 debut and attracted a lot of attention to his driving skills.

The Toleman TG183B chassis no.5 made its debut at The Grand Premio do Brazil in Rio De Janeiro. Ayrton Senna also drove it in four more events at Kaylami in Japan, Zolder in Belgium, and San Marino GP at Imola, in Italy. Imola, incidentally, is also the place the superstar crashed and died in 1994.

After Imola the car was retired and retained by the team until it was sold to the USA and restored in the early 90’s by Mike Earl’s North American bases team in Los Angeles. It is now back in the UK. Designed by Rory Byrne and Pat Symonds for privateer F1 team Toleman, the car features an original Hart Turbo engine, complete with a spare block from Toleman team and full documentation and history.
