As we get closer to this year’s New York Auto Show where the all-new 2016 Kia Optima will make its world debut, the Korean auto maker upgrades its teasers from official renderings to a proper first picture. The new Optima looks like it’s constantly sighing; like something has made it very sad.
That could be what Kia’s designers have come up with for it, because whichever way you cut it, 2016 Kia Optima is just not as good-looking as the car it is going to replace. It looks more luxurious though, what with that 3D grille and its chrome edges, all that detailing in the bumper, and those elegantly flared wheel arches.
Official details are yet to be released, but for now Kia mentions “multiple engine choices, more spacious interior, class-up premium features and a number of technologies not previously offered” as the main highlights of 2016 Optima. Korean cars have always been with the specs and equipment, so you are not going to be disappointed in that aspect.
The new generation Kia Optima might also spawn a station wagon version, as seen with the Sportspace concept of this year’s Geneva Motor Show. It’ll be probably be an Europe-only model though, as Americans aren’t that into estate cars.
