The latest BMW to arrive at Mcchip-DKR workshops for a proper power upgrade is the 2015 BMW M235i Convertible, undoubtedly one of the most fun cars the German auto maker launched last year. It arrived there with 326 PS and 450Nm of torque. Read on to find out how big a punch it packed with it left.
BMW M235i is a hugely appealing car because it is powered by the same basic engine as the new M3/M4, but it comes in a more compact, more nimble package. May consider this model to the real successor to the legendary E30 M3. The engine in question is a six-cylinder in-line M Performance TwinPower Turbo engine, featuring centrally positioned multi-hole injectors, VALVETRONIC variable valve timing and Double-VANOS variable camshaft timing.
It is a jewel of an engine, that unit. But as is often the case with BMW engines, they have left a lot of room for improvement. Exploiting that room, Mcchip technicians has increased the power out of BMW M235i to 404 PS and 529 Nm of torque. Those with a basic knowledge of tuning know that that is a huge gain to achieve through electronics alone. Just imagine what you can do if you add new exhausts and intakes to the mix!
