BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Teased for Villa d’Este Debut

BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage teaser 600x441 at BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage Teased for Villa d’Este Debut

Each year at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este BMW turns up with a fancy concept, honoring something in their past and at the same time hinting at what’s in the pipeline for the future. This year’s Villa concept is the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage, part of which is revealed here in this teaser picture.

As BMW aficionados have already guessed reading that name, BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage is a tribute to the BMW 3.0 CSL ‘Batmobile’ of the 1970s. The car features modern interpretation of the design cues that made the original CSL famous; cues such as super wide hips and large rear spoiler. One would imagine the front apron is also inspired by the original CSL, which means it should have a massive splitter and small kidney grilles.

For the interior, the designers of BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage have taken a minimalistic approach, as per CSL philosophy, fitting only what was necessary, and that in a way that reflects lightweight design, sportiness and elegance. We will certainly be treated to more pictures and details in the run up to the 2015 Villa d’Este which will start on May 22.

BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage will be joined at the Concourse by a second concept car which is unknown at the moment.
