German tuner Lorinser has revealed its tuning program for the C400 variant of the latest Mercedes C-Class generation. Lorinser Mercedes C400 4MATIC benefits from increased performance as well as upgraded styling.

The styling bit, as is often the case with Lorinser cars, is a tad controversial. The tuner has gone replaced the stock bumpers with their own weirdly shaped versions and then teamed them with a custom grille, front and rear spoiler, boot lid wing, new tailpipes and new wheels. The C-Class certainly looks fancier now, but it may not look awfully pretty to everybody.

In terms of performance, Lorinser Mercedes C400, which is powered by the brilliant new 3.0-liter V6 engine developing 330 horsepower in standard form, is equipped with the tuner’s 4-pipe Lorinser exhaust system and software. These modifications are good for almost 60 extra horsepower, bringing the total output of the car to 390 horsepower and 580 Nm of torque.

The extra power combined with the traction of the standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system should have a tangible effect on the performance figures of Lorinser Mercedes C400. But will it enough to drive people away from Mercedes’ own C63 AMG?
