German tuner Wimmer-RS has just finished upgrading a KTM X-Bow GT for a customer from Dubai who evidently wanted to combine his love of gold with his passion for track racing. Wimmer has pulled this tricky thing off by boosting the power of the X-Bow and wrapping it in gold foil.

The end result is a very fast and very shiny thing they call the KTM X-Bow GT Dubai Gold Edition. The only issue that might turn out to be a serious problem for this car is that it’s going to be used in Dubai, right, and as you know the sun shines extra bright over there. So that gold wrap could potentially reflect the sunlight straight into the driver’s eyes and momentarily blind him, which isn’t ideal if he’s at a race track driving really fast.

And he would be driving really fast because KTM X-Bow GT Dubai Gold Edition comes with a host of mechanical modifications that turn the car into a missile. Wimmer doesn’t get into much details about the mods, but the engine has apparently received a new software and tweaked exhaust, and as a result it now makes 485 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque, which translates into a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.9 seconds and a 0 to 200 km/h in 9.9 seconds.
