So yesterday, as promised, Jeremy Clarkson went to Dunsfold Aerodrome to have one last lap of Top Gear test track built within the facility’s airstrips. Jezza’s farewell lap was mainly a charity thing which, according to the man himself, raised “a load of cash for a good cause.”
No videos of Clarkson’s last Top Gear lap has surfaced yet, but he published the picture above on Twitter showing him trying to work out what would be the best car for the occasion: Mercedes AMG GT, Ferrari LaFerrari, or Ferrari 488 GTB.
After the lap was done Clarkson tweeted: “My last ever lap of the Top Gear track is done. Bit sad leaving the place for the final time.” Then another photo of him emerged showing Marino Franchitti and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason the way around the Top Gear track in a Volvo, which was probably a part of the charity thing mentioned before.
As for the final thoughts that passed the unique mind of Clarkson after his last ever lap of the Top Gear test track, well, it was vintage Jezza:
“I did the motherfucker of all tail slides through Chicago.”
