Chrome-Wrapped Mercedes SLR Spotted in France

It’s the middle of summer and lovely weather abounds in the UK. But for some reason the owner of this British McLaren Mercedes SLR is vacationing in France where his super unique car is going to attract more attention. Thing is though, he should probably steer clear of warm places.

The reason for that is, as you can see in the pictures, the heat has started to mess up the wrap on this Mercedes SLR – a wrap that is apparently three years old. Of course, it’s mostly the film around the side vents that are damaged, and they are exposed to the heat of the engine. And what an engine it is. It’s a big, supercharged 5.5 liter V8 unit with over 600 horsepower. Come to think of it, the quality of this wrap must be pretty good to withstand the heat of that engine until now.

Now, some of may might argue that it is not such a bad thing for this wrap to get peeled away. It’s a ridiculous design, what with the black melting into red, melting into orange, melting into yellow, and finally the chrome bit at the front. It is rather ridiculous, to be honest. But it is also unique, and that’s the whole point of treatments like this.
