Finally, after what seemed like a year’s worth of teasers and previews crammed in a month, Mercedes-AMG is now ready to reveal the hot new product that is the 2017 C63 AMG Coupe. Scheduled to hit the market in the summer of 2016, the new C63 Coupe packs serious firepower and benefits from a super sophisticated chassis.

As expected, the 2017 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe shares its powertrain with the AMG GT sports car. Just like that car, the 4.0 liter biturbo V8 also comes in the C63 comes in two versions, including standard with 469 horsepower, and C63 S with 503 horsepower.

Obviously you want to get the S version as that is the one that gets most of the good stuff, such as AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension with electronically controlled shock absorbers, AMG DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes, the rear-axle limited-slip differential and the dynamic engine mounts. What’s more, the S is 0.1 of a second quicker to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 290 km/h or 180 mph whereas the standard model is limited to 250 or 155.

Design-wise, the 2017 Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe looks pretty much the same as the normal C-Class Coupe, which looks similar to the C63 Sedan, save for the rear-end which is a lot sportier in the AMG model. You get the familiar AMG bumpers and aero paraphernalia which in the S model come in naked carbon fiber. The wheelarches are a bit wider as well, and they house larger wheels and tires. Inside the cabin the AMG treatment means you get standard sports seats in ARTICO/microfiber DINAMICA or optional Performance seats plus sport steering wheel and carbon fiber.

Other highlights of the new C63 AMG Coupe contributing to an awesome driving experience include a bespoke exhaust system with flap technology, AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 7-speed sport transmission, and a 3-stage ESP with “ESP ON”, “ESP SPORT Handling Mode” and “ESP OFF” settings.
