Although BMW does not at this time offer an M version of the X4 Sport Activity Coupe, they sort of give you all the ingredients you need to make one yourself. You just have to use your imagination. This BMW X4 M Sport is 90 percent there to be a full-fledged M car.

This X4 is based on a xDrive 35d with a standard output of 313 PS and 630 Nm. I know, it’s diesel, and that might cause some of you to develop a rash. But check this out: Mcchip-DKR has developed a software upgrade for the 35d engine that increases the output to 369 PS and 711 Nm without compromising the efficiency. It’s not what you would get from a real petrol-powered M engine, but it’s great compromise.

Other reasons why this BMW X4 M Sport can be considered a proper M-mobile is the styling. As mentioned in the name, the car features a full set M Sport body kit including M bumpers, carbon splitter, spoiler, and tailgate wing, M wheels, and quad M tailpipes. And then there is the paint work, a matte gunmetal wrap combined with black wheels. We stand corrected. This X4 is not an M car. It’s better than that!
