If this heavily tricked-out Audi R8 looks familiar that’s because we have featured here on MW before. It’s that road-going race car Audi R8 GT3 LMS conversion by Mcchip-DKR, now handed over to its owner Potter & Rich. They have christened the car Audi R8 RECON MC8 and made this saucy gallery for it.
We have already discussed the technicalities of this car in detail, but just to recap, Audi R8 RECON MC8 is based on a V10 Plus model and they have converted it to look and feel like a GT3 racer while remaining perfectly street legal. They may have overcooked it a bit though. A GT3 race car has around 500 horsepower while this bad boy packs 950! So it’s about 100 PS more mighty than the last time we saw it.
Another interesting highlights of Audi R8 RECON MC8 include conversion from all-wheel-drive to rear-wheel-drive for the sake of better power-to-weight ratio, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, Brembo braking system from R8 LMS Ultra, KW competition motorsports chassis, paired with hydraulic air system (KW HLS), and a kickass sound system to top it all off!
Obviously the RECON MC8 features that Audi R8 LMS Ultra carbon aero kit as well, consisting of front splitter, rear diffuse,r GT3 wing, and the necessary flaps. The kit is paired with a set of BBS motorsport rims in 11×18 inches with 305/30 ZR18 in front and 13×18 inches with 335/30 ZR18 in rear.
