As you may remember from a relatively old episode of Top Gear – the one with Ferrari FF vs Bentley Continental test, to be more precise – there is an exact replica of the Silverstone track on frozen Lake Udjaur in Sweden. In their latest publicity stunt JLR sent a Range Rover Sport SVR over there to take it on.

The man trusted with the job of driving the Range Rover Sport SVR to and on the arctic Silverstone was Land Rover Ambassador and polar explorer, Ben Saunders. He received instruction from Land Rover Experience instructor and former rally champion, Finland’s Minna Sillankorva,

It is kind of a big deal to see the Range Rover Sport SVR looking so at home on snow and ice, since the super sport SUV is supposed to be tuned for and track use. And make no mistake, it is brilliant at it supposed role. But the beauty of the SVR is that it has lost none of its off-road capabilities in gaining extra performance capabilities.

Powered by a 550 horsepower supercharged V8 engine, the Range Rover Sport SVR is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds. It comes with a suite of features to enhance all-terrain performance, including the latest generation of Land Rover’s advanced Terrain Response system.
